After coming across a video of an adorable kitten with mesmerizing blue eyes, Hanna felt the urge to adopt the little furball into her home. Being a veterinary technician, she knew that the kitten was terminally ill and was suffering from cerebral hypoplasia, but that didn’t stop her from wanting to provide him with love and care. It was only later that she discovered another surprising feature of the kitten.
Hannah took it upon herself to give her new feline companion a distinctive moniker, “Tipsy”. The name was chosen due to the cat’s unique condition causing it to be unsteady on its paws, often swaying and even tumbling over. Its gait was reminiscent of someone under the influence, thus Hannah opted to embrace the humor in the situation by dubbing him as such.
Upon discovering a two-month-old kitten in her home, Hanna realized that while the disease may not be curable, she could create a happy environment for the feline. However, upon closer inspection, Hanna noticed that cerebral hypoplasia was not the only affliction of her new companion, as something seemed off with its eyes. Despite the challenges, the cat proved to be intelligent and adaptable, quickly adjusting to its new surroundings. It was later discovered that the shelter had overlooked the fact that Tipsy was blind, likely due to the fact that it resided mostly in a cage and did not run around much.
When Hannah noticed her cat Tipsy stumbling over objects and not responding to a toy waved in front of its nose, she suspected that there might be something wrong with the kitten. However, it turned out that Tipsy was not suffering from hypoplasia, but was in fact blind. Despite this condition, Tipsy had learned to adapt well and was able to move around without falling over. Hannah was confident that with time, the kitten would learn to balance itself and move around like any other healthy cat. In fact, Tipsy didn’t seem to feel “special” at all and enjoyed playing just like any other cat. It loved running after the dogs in Hannah’s house and was happy to be loved and taken care of.
Tipsy, the blind kitten, often elicits sympathy and tears from those who see him as he moves unsteadily. However, Hana is confident that Tipsy will be alright because they are taking care of him and providing him with love and warmth.
We are extremely happy that Tipsy has a fantastic owner who takes great care of him. Thanks to his loving hostess, he will always be content and never experience loneliness or sadness.
